Bee Ready
Our popular Bee Ready course, now in its sixth year, is designed to provide you with sufficient information and experience to enable you to keep bees for yourself. They are held over a weekend in late spring/early summer in the farm’s relaxed surroundings, and do not require any prior knowledge on your part. A copy of the syllabus, approved by the British Beekeepers Association, can be forwarded upon request; in summary it covers:
- What is needed to keep bees
- Successful handling of a honeybee colony
- Equipment required
- Natural history of the honeybee
- Diseases and pests
- Plenty of hands-on experience
- Support during your first year of keeping bees
Bee Wise
Designed to refresh the knowledge of those already keeping bees, this one-day course re-visits those topics requested by participants.
